Man fatally stabbed in Melbourne unit
A woman is in custody after a man in his 70s was stabbed to death in a unit in Melbourne.
Emergency services found the body in a Mitcham unit about midday on Monday.
Detective Stephen McIntyre told reporters a 69-year-old woman was being questioned and police aren't looking for anyone else over the death.
The man and woman were known to each other, but police won't comment on their relationship.
Police scoured the property that includes nine well-maintained units with gardens on the one block.
Some detectives left carrying brown paper evidence bags.
That property and an adjoining block of units were earlier cordoned off with police tape along busy Mitcham Road.
Neighbour Jenny, who did not give her last name, said she didn't hear anything out of the ordinary on Monday.
"A policeman came to the door and said that there was a break-in next door and asked me if I heard anything," Jenny told reporters.
The dead man is yet to be formally identified.
