Man falls 4m through awning in Melbourne

A worker has been hospitalised after crashing through an awning at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne.

The man was working atop the awning - which advertises the upcoming musical Singin' in the Rain - when the metal structure gave way on Wednesday morning.

He was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition with arm and back injuries, Ambulance Victoria said.
