Man escapes certain death in terrifying dashcam video

A man has been filmed narrowly escaping certain death on a busy Victorian freeway.

The dash-camera video, from Dash Cam Owners Australia and posted to YouTube by 3AW, appears to be filmed along the Princes Freeway at the Werribee exit.

It shows a truck slamming on its brakes as it approaches a man standing in the middle of the freeway, and then swerving to avoid him.

The man, who appears to be wearing a high-visibility vest, does not appear to flinch or make any attempt to avoid the truck.

A passenger in the dashcam owner’s car can be heard gasping as their vehicle also swerves around the man.

“What a f---king idiot,” a voice is heard saying.

Later in the clip, a truck can be seen parked on a median strip just ahead of the man. Viewers have suggested he may have been trying to flag down help.
