Man dies in western Melbourne collision

A man has died after his car crashed into an oncoming truck in Melbourne's west.

Police say it's believed the man's car was travelling north on Hopkins Road at Truganina when it veered into a truck travelling south just after 4am on Sunday.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car and is yet to be identified, died at the scene and the driver of the truck received minor injuries.
