Two die in separate Victoria car crashes

Two men have died in separate car and truck crashes in Victoria.

One man was killed after his truck rolled in Portland just after 8am on Monday.

He was the only person in the truck and is yet to be formally identified.

The second man, 28, died after the car he was driving slammed into the back of a four-wheel drive at a railway crossing at Campbellfield, about 6.30am.

The Meadow Heights man died in Royal Melbourne Hospital early on Monday afternoon.

His female passenger, 26, is in hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car he hit was uninjured.

Victoria's road toll is now 72 compared with 68 this time last year.
