Man dies after car hit tree in Vic

A man has died after his car hit a tree in regional Victoria.

The man, aged in his 30s, died at the scene after his car came off the Goulburn Valley Highway near Alexandra and hit the tree just before 2am on Sunday.

Victoria's provisional 2015 road toll stands at 135, up from 128 at the same time last year.
