Services resume after man fatally hit by train in Melbourne’s CBD

Train services have resumed on the City Loop in Melbourne’s CBD after a man was fatally hit by a train this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Flagstaff Railway Station around 2.40pm following reports a person had been hit by a train.

Alamein, Belgrave, Lilydale and Glen Waverley services were earlier affected but have now resumed through the City Loop, Metro Trains announced.

All train lines are now running on their normal routes.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
