Man dies after assault in regional Vic

A man has died after an assault at a sports club in regional Victoria.

The man, aged in his 40s, was assaulted about 5.45pm at the club in Edgars Road, Heywood.

He could not be revived by paramedics. Police are investigating the man's death.
