Two dead in Melbourne road crashes

Two people are dead in separate road crashes in Melbourne's northeast.

A car and motorcycle collided on William St in Greensborough about 7pm on Wednesday, leaving the rider dead.

The 76-year-old woman driving the car stopped to help, and police are investigating.

Another man died after his car hit a tree while he was driving along Healesville-Kinglake Rd in Kinglake before 6.30pm.

He died at the scene and hasn't been formally identified.
