Man charged over shooting in Victoria

A man has been charged over the shooting of another man in the northern Victorian town of Shepparton.

A 27-year-old man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition after being shot on Sunday morning.

Police say a 24-year-old man has been charged with intentionally and recklessly causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering death or serious injury and being a prohibited person using a firearm.

He will appear at the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old is assisting police with their inquiries.
