Man charged over botched Vic armed robbery

A man will appear in a Victorian court charged over a botched armed robbery in suburban Geelong in which police were allegedly attacked.

Police say a man armed with a weapon bailed up two people in Norlane about 7am on Thursday, then challenged a police officer who tried to arrest him.

A man of no fixed address was remanded in custody to appear in the Geelong Magistrates Court on Friday on charges including attempted armed robbery, assault with a weapon and assaulting a police officer.
