Man arrested over Vic motorcyclist death

A man has been arrested in connection to the death of a young motorcyclist in central Victoria.

The 24-year-old motorcyclist died after he was hit by a ute on Woolpack Road at Maddingley on Wednesday night.

The male driver of the ute, a 36-year-old Dandenong man, stopped a short time after the crash.

He and one of his passengers, a 28-year-old Pentland Hills man, stayed at the scene.

However, a 31-year-old Pentland Hills man left on foot.

The 31-year-old presented himself to police about 3pm on Friday and will be interviewed by detectives.

Police believe the parties involved are known to each other.
