Luxury Melbourne store targeted by thieves

Thieves have smashed their way into Melbourne's Chanel store in a brazen haute couture pre-Christmas heist.

Police believe a group of men smashed the front window of the luxury iconic French store in Flinders Lane to gain entry about 5.50am (AEDT).

A number of valuable items were taken and police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
