Just Group loses CFO to Cotton On

Clothing giant Just Group has lost its appeal against a decision that allowed a former senior executive to work for its competitor Cotton On.

The fashion retailer, which includes brands such as Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Dotti and Smiggle, sought an injunction from the Victorian Supreme Court that would stop ex-CFO Nicole Peck working for their rival.

The Supreme Court dismissed Just Group's case, finding a post-employment restraint clause in Ms Peck's contract was not reasonable or enforcable, a decision which the Court of Appeal upheld.
