Joan Kirner to get state funeral

Former Victorian premier Joan Kirner will be farewelled at a state funeral on Friday.

A large crowd is expected to attend the service at the Williamstown Town Hall at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested well-wishers make a donation to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation.
