Jetstar boosts Vic Aust-China flights

Chinese visitor numbers to Melbourne are expected to jump with the addition of a new direct route between Zhengzhou and the Victorian city.

China is the state's number one tourism market for both international visitor numbers, with more than 570,000 visitors shelling out $2.6 billion in the year to March.

The Jetstar flights two times a week will add 70,000 seats each way each year. This means that from December Victoria will have direct flights to 10 cities across China.
