Infrastructure Vic bypassed by government

Victoria's $10 million-a-year infrastructure body has not been asked for advice on the government's flagship road and rail projects.

Infrastructure Victoria's chief executive Michael Masson told a parliamentary committee it could only advise on the projects when the government asked.

The opposition said the watchdog had been muzzled by the government, which seems to have deliberately kept the body away from all major infrastructure projects - including the $11 billion Melbourne Metro Rail, $5.5 billion Western Distributor and controversial plans for a Skyrail.
