Indecent act with child: officer charged

A protective services officer will face court accused of an indecent act with a child.

Victoria Police have charged the man with indecent assault and indecent act with a child under care or supervision.

The officer has been stood down with pay and bailed to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates Court on June 23.

The man was arrested by Task Force Salus detectives, who investigate serious predatory behaviour and sexual harassment and discrimination committed by Victoria Police personnel.

Protective services officers have similar powers to police and are responsible for monitoring safety at train stations after dark.
