Hunt for gunman after Melbourne shooting

A gunman who shot a man several times outside a home in Melbourne's north is on the run, with police investigating whether it's linked to an earlier shooting.

The 20-year-old victim was shot outside his Bray Street home at Reservoir by a shooter in a black SUV about 1.30am on Saturday, Victoria Police said.

The shooter and his getaway driver fled, and police are also looking at whether the vehicle is linked to a black Porsche found burnt out at Brunswick East about half an hour later.

It follows an earlier shooting on the same street in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The victim remains in hospital as police continue to search for his attacker.
