Hunt for backpack bandit in Melbourne

A man carrying a large sum of cash in a backpack has been robbed outside a Melbourne bank.

He was threatened by a man with a gun before relinquishing his backpack while standing outside a bank in Broadmeadows at 4.30pm on May 2.

Police on Wednesday released photos of a man they want to question over the theft.
