Hunt for assailant who attacked Vic man

A man has been seriously injured after he was punched several times in the face as he was walking home through a Gippsland park on New Year's Eve.
The 46-year-old man was attacked by a stranger between the Airlie Bank Road footbridge and Burnside Drive in Morwell sometime between 3pm and 4pm. The assailant struck the victim several times in the face, causing serious injuries.
The offender has been described as Caucasian, 182cm tall with a dark beard or facial hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap, white T-shirt and black shorts, and was carrying a blue umbrella.
