Hundreds to march in Melbourne for Masa

Hundreds of women dressed in running gear will take to Melbourne's streets as the man accused of killing schoolgirl Masa Vukotic returns to court.

The 17-year-old was fatally stabbed to death in March on a nightly walk in a park near her Doncaster home.

As well as wearing gym gear, participants in the march are expected to wear pink (Masa's favourite colour) and have been urged to wear headphones, just as she did.

The march will start from four meeting points - in Doncaster, Kew, Richmond and outside the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

"We want this to be an event that pays honour to Masa and encourages freedom for all of us from feeling unsafe," the Facebook page for the event says.

"This is for Masa, other victims and for the future generations to come."

Sean Christian Price, 31, from Albion, is accused of fatally stabbing Masa in a random attack.

More than 1000 people have confirmed they will attend the march on June 15, the day Price returns to court.
