Docklands area now safe after gas leak

Authorities have decalred the Docklands area of Melbourne safe after an earlier gas leak saw over 300 people evacuated.

Firefighters placed water fogs on the leaking gas on Saturday morning to disperse it and prevent a cloud.

Specialists were deployed with detecting equipment to monitor the air, both in and around the incident.

Victoria Police closed Bourke Street and assisted with the evacuations.

No injuries were reported.
