Holy day 'invaded' by AFL: Anglican bishop

The AFL has been urged to rethink its decision to schedule a match on Good Friday in 2017.
Anglican Bishop Philip Huggins, a passionate Geelong supporter, said the AFL had succumbed to market forces that treated holy days as just another opportunity to make a profit.
"We've always been kicking against the wind but the AFL has been one entity that has exercised restraint," Bishop Huggins said on Wednesday.
"Even the most sacred days, for which our forebears had the wisdom to make holy days, are then invaded."
The AFL on Tuesday confirmed North Melbourne would host premiers the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on April 14 next year in the inaugural holiday clash.
The round four game will kick off at 4.20pm so as not to interfere with religious services.
The AFL Commission in 2014 gave the ok for a match to be played on Good Friday but until now hasn't scheduled a fixture for the day.
