Handgun lighter left at Melbourne court

A cigarette lighter shaped like a handgun sparked a security scare after it was left outside a Melbourne court.

The lighter, which is a prohibited item, was reported to a PSO after it was discovered outside the Melbourne Magistrates Court at around noon on Thursday.

Police are investigating who left the lighter outside the court.
