Fallen mining magnate Joseph Gutnick, his wife and son are set to be quizzed in court this week over his $275 million bankruptcy.

The Federal Court in Melbourne has summoned Mr Gutnick, his wife Stera and son Mordechai to give evidence about the former Melbourne Football Club president's financial affairs after he declared bankruptcy last July.

Stera Gutnick and Mordechai Gutnick will be grilled in the witness box on Monday, while Mr Gutnick will be questioned on Wednesday.

Registrar Timothy Luxton is overseeing the examination, which is being conducted by trustees Pitcher Partners.

Last Thursday, the examination heard evidence from Gutnick's accountant, Peter Stegelman.

Other business associates of the man dubbed "Diamond Joe" for his success in discovering diamonds, have also given evidence as part of the hearing.

When Mr Gutnick declared bankruptcy last year, he told his trustees he had $16,087 in cash and owed creditors over $275.5 million.
