Gunman on run after Melbourne shooting

A gunman is on the run and his victim is in a serious condition in hospital after a shooting in Melbourne.

A 26-year-old Lynbrook man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg during the attack at Kuranjang about 4.40am on Thursday.

He is now in Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Neighbours say it's not the first time there has been trouble at the home, with police called to the property frequently.

Nine News also reports that the man has so far been unable to be interviewed and his girlfriend is refusing to co-operate with police.

Victoria Police was unable to confirm those reports.
