The man had applied for bail, which was opposed by the prosecutor.

He became upset as he explained to Magistrate Alan Spillane he was "a hard working man" who needed to be released on bail so he could work and look after his dogs.

Mr Spillane said the charges against the 42-year-old made him sound like a "lunatic".

He refused bail and the man began crying.

As the magistrate ordered he be removed from the dock, the man appeared to push one of the guards next to him before commotion broke out.

Several security and police officers in the court immediately rushed in to restrain and wrestle him to the floor.
