Grave robber strikes in Vic

Almost a year after being buried, a man's ashes have been stolen from his grave in regional Victoria.

The man's family noticed his grave at Wonthaggi cemetery had been disturbed last week.

An exhumation was carried out on Thursday and police have been told the ashes had been removed.

The funeral of the man, who died in Queensland, was held in February 2014.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity near the cemetery.
