Gallipoli medals stolen

A Gallipoli digger's war medals have been stolen.

The medals belonged to a man who served in Gallipoli with the New Zealand Mounted Rifles and were sent by registered post from Doveton, in Melbourne, to New Zealand back in February.

However, when they arrived at their destination in New Zealand it was evident the post bag had been tampered with and all of the medals were missing, Victoria Police say.

Inside the package were six medals, six miniature medals, a Gallipoli lapel badge, service records and photographs.
