Frankston thefts under spotlight
AAP
Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula have some of the lightest-fingered residents in Victoria.
Police say the area accounted for more than seven per cent of thefts in the state's retail stores last year.
In response police have established a taskforce to curb the crime wave and they're inviting security firms, retailers and the local council to share ideas and spot trends in offender behaviour.

Police have also started a register of private and public CCTV cameras to access a wider pool of footage to catch thieves.
