Former Tas Senator Shirley Waters dies

The first woman to represent Tasmania in the Senate has died aged 91.
Shirley Waters was elected in 1975 and served for 18 years as a Liberal senator.
"One of her greatest achievements was successfully lobbying for the Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme with her fellow Liberal senators," Tasmanian Acting Premier Jeremy Rockliff said on Monday.
