Former AFL footballer on trial for rape allegedly raped second girl

Former AFL footballer Majak Daw, who is on trial for raping a girl when he was in high school, allegedly raped a second girl during the same period, a Victorian court has heard.

The claim was made by a woman who has accused Daw of raping her at a party when she was aged 15, the Herald Sun reports.

Daw, 24, has entered not guilty pleas to three counts of rape over the attack which allegedly occurred in the Melbourne suburb of Altona Meadows in 2007.

The alleged victim, who cannot be identified, told police in a statement that she had spoken to another of Daw's alleged victims in 2007.

Daw's accuser said the teen approached her after news of her alleged rape at the hands of Daw became widely known around their school.

In the Victorian County Court the woman denied that she had made up the accusation of a second rape involving Daw under questioning from his barrister David Sexton.

Mr Sexton said the alleged victim had fabricated the story to further incriminate Daw.

But the woman denied the claim and insisted that she could remember the conversation.

"There was more people around and it was just me and her talking and she said that. I had told my mum later on and then later on, when (the police officer) was at my house, my mum goes: 'what about the other girl you told me about?' and then that's why I told (the officer)," the victim told the court.

Earlier in the day a witness said that she saw Daw raping her friend.

Mr Sexton suggested that the woman was infatuated with Daw and had asked him to kiss her despite her boyfriend being at the party where the alleged rape occurred.

He said the woman "was teased for being a flirt" and would ask to touch Daw's hair and teeth.

However, the witness denied all Mr Sexton's claims and said she was not attracted to Daw.
