Five women charged over Vic home invasion

Five women have been charged after they allegedly broke into a Melbourne home and assaulted another woman.

The women, aged between 17 and 28, allegedly broke into an Altona home about 7:30pm on Thursday, forced their way into the victim's bedroom and assaulted her.

The victim, aged 24, suffered minor injuries.

A 28-year-old Tarniet woman and a 19-year-old Hoppers Crossing woman faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday charged with home invasion, while two 17-year-old Deer Park girls fronted the Children's Court on the same charges.

A 17-year-old Tarneit girl was released with intent to summons.
