Five arrested after robbery in Melbourne

Five men have been arrested after a teenager was allegedly chased down a street, bashed and had his wallet stolen in Melbourne.

The 19-year-old needed surgery for significant injuries after he was one of four people chased down a street, assaulted and robbed of their phones and wallets in Newport early on Sunday.

Police say five men were arrested on Tuesday morning after an allegedly stolen car was found at a petrol station Reservoir.
