Victoria's alpine regions have had the first dusting of snow for the year.
After freezing temperatures overnight, snow began falling at first light on Thursday.
Falls Creek's Jo Prothero said it was a good sign for the season ahead.

"It was just a light covering but it starts to cool the ground down so that snow will start to build when we get more significant falls," Ms Prothero told AAP.
The Victorian snow season kicks off on the first weekend in June.
