First data from new Vic crime stats agency

Victoria's new Crime Statistics Agency will release its first major batch of data on Thursday.

The agency will release is first quarterly update of crime statistics, encompassing the 2014 calendar year.

It takes over a role previously performed by Victoria Police, and the new agency is promising to release more data, more frequently.

There will be further quarterly updates in June and December, and a major annual publication in October.
