Firefighting efforts boosted in Vic

A very large water bomber has been relocated from NSW to boost firefighting efforts in Victoria and South Australia.

The DC-10 Very Large Air Tanker will be based at Avalon Airport, alongside two other Large Air Tankers.

"Now the risk is decreasing in the northern part of NSW, it has been relocated to Victoria to support what is traditionally now the peak of our season," Emergency Management Commissioner Craig Lapsley said on Thursday.
