Fire destroys boats at Melbourne pier

Arson is suspected after two boats were destroyed at a pier in Melbourne's southeast.

A police patrol spotted the fire at Pompeis Pier at Mordialloc at 4.20am on Monday.

Seventeen firefighters, including some on a fireboat, extinguished the blaze, which the MFB says is suspicious.
