THE DEATHS OF STEVEN KADAR AND KATIE PETERS: WHAT THE INQUEST FOUND

* No one person should be blamed for the failure to remove the pair from the area

* There was sufficient collective information available for managers to pull them out but none knew all the facts

* The system failed to ensure all information was available to managers at the right time

* Even if the information had been collated, the pair might not have been removed in time.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

* More detailed and frequent briefings about bushfire locations

* Ensure the protection of human life is always first priority

* Design fire trucks better able to withstand falling trees

* Don't send firefighters to fire-effected alpine ash forests unless absolutely necessary.
