Female pedestrian killed in Vic car crash

A woman has died after being hit by a car in Melbourne's east.
Police say the woman was crossing Springvale Road about 6.30pm when she was struck by a car travelling north.
The male driver is assisting police.

They are seeking witnesses to the incident.
The woman died at the scene and is yet to be identified.
