There are serious concerns for the welfare of a Melbourne man who has been missing for four months.

Attila Bogar, 35, was last seen by relatives in Avondale Heights on October 9 last year.

Police believe he may have driven his grey Audi to Wollongong, NSW, the following day.

The car was found on Picton Road at Cataract, NSW on October 17 but extensive searches of the area have not turned up any sign of Mr Bogar.

He is described as 180cm tall with medium build, short dark hair and was unshaven.

Mr Bogar was last seen wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

Police hold serious concerns for his welfare.
