Ex-auto workers build Vic emergency fleet

Workers who left Victoria's defunct automotive industry will be hired to help build the state's new fleet of emergency service vehicles.

R A Bell and Company in Sunshine North fit out vehicles for the CFA, SES, MFB and Victoria Police.

It has received a $1 million state government grant to create 51 jobs, including 39 for former automotive workers, under the local industry fund for transition program, which offers up to $2 million to businesses for job creation.
