WHERE

Two regions issued with emergency warnings

- Mount Bolton and Addington, north of Ballarat: an out-of-control grassfire is travelling southeast from Laverys Road towards Settlement Road and the Sunraysia Highway.

- Somerville: an out-of-control grassfire is travelling in a southerly direction from Frankston Flinders Rd near Raymond St, Somerville.

EMERGENCY WARNINGS

- Mount Bolton, Addington: too late to leave.

- Somerville: too late to leave.

WATCH AND ACT

- Learmonth, Coghills Creek and Glendaruel: leaving now is the safest option

- There is a medium grass and scrub fire travelling fast eastward to Coghills Creek Road.

ROADS TO AVOID

- Laverys Road towards Settlement Rd.

- Sunraysia Highway.

- Frankston Flinders Rd near Raymond St, Somerville.

FORECAST

- Temperatures expected to hit about 40C in the state's northwest.

- Melbourne reached 39.4C at 3.20pm.

- A total fire ban is also in place across the state on Tuesday, with the exception of East Gippsland, with the temperature in Ballarat reaching 37C by 2.50pm.
