Electrical fault causes Vic garage fire

A garage fire in Melbourne's north has spread to two neighbouring homes causing up to $300,000 damage.

Firefighters arrived to a large garage fire in Yungera Street, Fawkner just before noon on Sunday.

The fire, caused by an electrical fault, had already spread to the eaves and roof space of houses on either side of the garage.

Despite getting the blaze under control quickly, there was significant damage to the roof and bedroom of one of the houses.
