Elderly Vic man punched after car accident
Detectives are appealing for help after an 80-year-old Victorian motorist was punched repeatedly in the face at the scene of an accident.
The man failed to give way when entering a road in Ballarat and his Volkswagen rammed another car.
"It's believed the collision was relatively minor, however, after the impact, two men approached the Tiguan," according to a police statement.
"It's believed the men then assaulted the 80-year-old driver, punching him several times to the face" before running off.
It is not known if the men were from the other car - a maroon Hyundai Lantra - or just in the area.
The crash and assault occurred just after 9pm on November 29.
The elderly driver needed hospital treatment for facial injuries.
