Elderly man dies in Melbourne house fire

An elderly man has died in a Melbourne house fire.

The Frankston residence was fully engulfed when emergency crews arrived on Saturday evening.

Police say an 87-year-old man, the only occupant, perished in the blaze.

Arson chemists are on the scene to determine the cause.
