Elderly man dies after Vic crash

A man has died in hospital after a crash in Melbourne's southeast last week.

The 97-year-old from Berwick was driving along Thompsons Road in Cranbourne North on Tuesday night when his car struck another vehicle, police say.

He was taken to hospital but died on Saturday morning.

His death brings the state's provisional road toll to 166, five more than at the same time last year.
