A drug-affected man, aged in his 50s, was caught driving twice in Melbourne in the space of three hours.

That man, a 23-year-old Croydon man and 39-year-old Ringwood man were all charged after testing positive to methamphetamines/MDMA on Wednesday by the Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol.

The 54-year-old Croydon man was initially intercepted after disobeying a red arrow and was picked up again hours later for speeding in Chirnside Park.

All drivers will be charged on summons with a range of traffic offences, with the older Croydon man also charged with disobeying a lawful direction by a member of the police force.
