Four deaths add to Vic road toll

Four people have died following four separate crashes on Victorian roads.

Two of the victims were killed in accidents early on Monday morning, while two others died in hospital from injuries suffered in earlier collisions.

A man died in Reservoir when he was hit by a car about 5.45am on Monday.

The female driver was speaking to police.

He was the fourth pedestrian to die on Victorian roads in just six days.

About 1am on Monday, a driver was killed after crashing into a parked truck near Ballarat.

Police believe the car was travelling the wrong way down a service lane in Delacombe.

The dead driver's gender has not been determined.

A cyclist and an elderly pedestrian both died in Melbourne hospitals on Monday following road accidents last week.

The cyclist, a 69-year-old Sorrento man, suffered severe head injuries after he and a cycling mate collided at nearby Portsea on Tuesday.

The other man, 67, had minor injuries.

An 83-year-old man was struck by a motorbike as he crossed a main road in Abbotsford on Friday.

The rider, a 33-year-old Abbotsford man, has been charged with culpable driving and was bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.

Victoria's road toll is now 35, three more than for the same time last year.
